Owl Punch Card

Don't you just love this cute little owl? He is so stinkin' fun! This was a card we made at Stamp Club last month. I LOVE the Two-Step Owl punch...so many different uses for this little guy! We used retired Designer Series Paper in Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive; but you could use the most current patterns on page 175 of the Idea Book and Catalog. The Happy Halloween greeting could easily be switched out for a fun birthday or thank you card. Edges were inked in Chocolate Chip with Stamping Sponges.
  • Stamps: SU Teeny Tiny Wishes
  • Paper: SU Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Pumpkin Pie DSP, Old Olive DSP
  • Ink: SU Chocolate Chip
  • Accessories: SU Two-Step Owl punch, Modern Label punch, Word Window Punch, 2 3/8" Scallop Circle punch, Stamping Sponges

Bella Toile Thank You Card

Another Wild Wasabi and Basic Black card! Don't you just love the Bella Toile background stamp? I know it isn't brand new, but I just bought this stamp a couple of months ago and I'm loving it! It provides such a pretty and elegant background for your cards. Love the new Perfect Punches stamp set, too. All the stamps in this set coordinate with one of our punches!
To get the two-tone image for the "Thanks" I first stamped the image in Wild Wasabi. Then, I used a Blender Pen to remove the ink from the "Thanks." Next, I used the Basic Black Stampin' Write marker to ink the "Thanks" part of the stamp. Finally, I was ready to stamp and punch! So easy, yet makes such a difference. Blender Pens are great tools, not only can you use them to add color to your image, but you can also remove unwanted color from areas on your stamp prior to stamping! Gotta love a multi-tasking tool like that!
  • Stamps: SU Bella Toile background, Perfect Punches
  • Paper: SU Whisper White, Wild Wasabi, Basic Black
  • Ink: SU Wild Wasabi, Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker
  • Accessories: SU Big Shot, Square Lattice embossing folder, Scallop Oval extra large punch, Blender Pens, Stampin Dimensionals

Baja Breeze Butterfly Prints

Today's card is one we made at Stamp Club way back in July. Obviously, I'm a little late in posting it. Hey, better late than never, right?
We had fun stamping these sweet butterflies in Baja Breeze and using the coordinating Butterfly Punch. Love, love, love how SU coordinates stamps and punches! We added the butterflies with Stampin Dimensionals to creat depth. The Elegant Lines embossing folder was so easy to use with the Big Shot and added such great detail to the background of the card. Makes you just want to touch it, doesn't it? Distressing the edges of the sentiment was super easy to do with a quick swipe of the sponge dauber inked in Baja Breeze.
  • Stamps: SU Butterfly Prints
  • Paper: SU Baja Breeze, Whisper White
  • Ink: SU Baja Breeze
  • Accessories: Big Shot, Elegant Lines embossing folder, Butterfly Punch, Sponge Daubers, Stampin' Dimensionals, non-SU white ribbon

Altered Gift Bag

My Stamp Club met last week and one of the ladies had just celebrated a birthday! In fact, a friend of hers had purchased a Stampin' Up! gift certificate for me to present to her that night. Of course I couldn't just give her the gift certificate in an envelope! I used the Flower Folds Bigz xl die and some retired Kaleidescope Designer Series Paper (DSP) to dress up a plain white gift bag. I was pretty pleased with the results!
  • Paper: Retired SU Kaleidescope DSP (Sorry, it's not available now - but any of our great DSP would work perfectly!)
  • Accessories: Big Shot, Flower Folds Bigz xl die, non-SU white gift bag

Baptism Card

Our family at Allie's Baptism

Our newest addition to the family was baptized at church this past Sunday. It was a beautiful ceremony that we shared with our family and friends. What a special time for our little girl! She didn't even cry when the Deacon poured the Holy Water over her head! Today's card is the one I made for the Deacon who performed her baptism.

I'm loving Wild Wasabi! I'm sure you'll be seeing much more of it in future posts. I bought the Crosses of Hope stamp set for this special occasion, but it can (and will) be used for so many other reasons. The Square Lattice Embossing Folder was perfect for this card. It made small crosses within the design that coordinated perfectly with the cross stamp.
  • Stamps: Stampin' Up! Crosses of Hope
  • Paper: SU Whisper White, Wild Wasabi, Basic Black
  • Ink: SU Wild Wasabi, Basic Black
  • Accessories: SU Square Lattice Embossing Folder, non-SU black ribbon

Extra Large Fancy Flower Card with Tissue Paper

This is a card we made at our April Stamp Club meeting. We used the Extra Large Fancy Flower punch from the Occasions Mini catalog, which just expired on April 30th - but I'm happy to say that you can still order the punch!!! Instead of using paper to create our flower, we used tissue paper to give it a more delicate appearance. We also used colors that will be retiring - Pink Passion and Green Galore. I love the look of these two colors together.
  • Stamps: Well Scripted, Sweet Swirls Wheel
  • Paper: SU Pink Passion, Whisper White, Green Galore
  • Ink: SU Pink Passion
  • Accessories: SU Big Shot, Top Note die, Little Leaves die, Boho Blossoms punch, Silver Brads, Stampin' Around Handle, non-SU ribbon

  • Ink: SU Certainly Celery
  • Accessories: SU Big Shot, Flower Folds die, Wide Oval punch, 1" Circle Punch, non-SU embossing folder

Stampin' Up! Color Renovation

Have you heard the news????

Stampin' Up! has announced a Color Renovation starting with the new catalog on July 1st, 2010!

29 colors will be retiring! Sad, I know. I'm going to miss Brilliant Blue, Pixie Pink, Lovely Lilac and Close to Cocoa.
But, several past In-Colors will be back in our color collections....Pink Pirouette, Wild Wasabi and Tangerine Tango! Melon Mambo will be back next year! I'm so excited to see these favorites again!

I'm sure the retiring colors will be available while supplies last, so if your favorite color is retiring, stock up on it now! This includes everything in that color: stamp pads, cardstock, markers, ribbons, buttons, etc.
Here are our retiring colors:
Here are our new Color Collections as of July 1st!

As I find out new information, I will let you know. Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions or comments.

Paper Flower Card - Part 2!

First, let me apologize for the terrible lighting in this picture. I took it at night and the colors just don't look quite right!
This card has a different version of paper flowers. I've used 2 layers of paper punched from the Extra Large Fancy Flower punch (available through April 30th in the Occasions Mini catalog), one flower punched from the 5-Petal Flower punch and one flower from the Boho Blossoms punch. Everthing is held together with a silver brad. The leaves are also from the 5-Petal Flower punch. The SU backgrounds Texturz plate adds a bit of interest to the background. The sentiment is from the Well Scripted stamp set, also in the Occasions Mini Catalog.
  • Stamps: SU Well Scripted (Occasions Mini Catalog)
  • Paper: SU Whisper White, So Saffron, Certainly Celery, Shades of Spring DSP (Occasions Mini Catalog)
  • Ink: Certainly Celery
  • Accessories: SU Extra Large Fancy Flower Punch (Occasions Mini Catalog), 5-Petal Flower punch, Boho Blossoms punch, silver brads, Texturz Plates, Big Shot, Certainly Celery ribbon

Paper Flower Birthday Card

We've had beautiful weather in our area the past couple of days, and it's given me major Spring Fever! I've been working on a few cards in my craft room and my Fever has rubbed off on my paper crafting...lots of flowers and spring colors.
Aren't these paper flowers adorable? I've seen several examples online, but this is my version. They are simple to create, yet make such an impact.
I've used a few Sale-A-Bration products on this card. Don't forget SAB ends in just a few days on March 31st. For every $50 you purchase in product, you can choose a FREE SAB item. Click on the SAB catalog on the right hand side of the screen to see your choices!
  • Stamps: SU Vintage Labels (SAB)
  • Paper: SU Whisper White, Pretty in Pink, So Saffron, Shades of Spring DSP (available in the Mini Catalog - through April 30th)
  • Ink: SU Pretty in Pink
  • Accessories: SU Scallop Trim Border Punch (SAB), Curly Label Punch, Scallop Circle Punch, Boho Blossoms Punch, Silver Brads, Stampin' Dimensionals

Good Luck Card

Today's card is a simple one we made at my home school kids' class recently. It uses an old stamp set from Sale-A-Bration from last year - sorry! The hearts are stamped with Polka Dot Punches (SAB 2009) and punched out with the Full Heart punch. If you don't have this stamp set, it would look equally as cute to emboss the hearts with one of the Stampin' Up! embossing folders or Texturz Plates.

You could easily have put "Happy St. Patrick's Day" from Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set for the sentiment, but I chose "Good Luck" from Fundamental Phrases because it could be used year round.

  • Stamps: SU Polka Dot Punches, Fundamental Phrases, Teeny Tiny Wishes
  • Paper: SU Whisper White, Glorious Green, Basic Black
  • Ink: SU Basic Black, Glorious Green
  • Accessories: SU Modern Label Punch, Word Window Punch, Scallop Edge Punch, Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Folder, Full Heart Punch, Stampin' Dimensionals

Snow Day Scrapbook Page

Here's another scrapbook page I created using My Digital Studio (MDS) from Stampin' Up! I just noticed that I put the date as February, but it was actually January! Oh well, that will be an easy fix before I have it printed!

One thing I LOVE about MDS is that I can save a duplicate file and change out photos and journaling to make a page that focuses on my older son. I only had to design one layout, but can get multiple pages from it! Gotta love MDS! I'm feeling so much better about getting caught up with my scrapbooking!

Becoming A Demonstrator FAQ's

Q: What are the minimum sales requirements?
A: You only need to submit $300 in sales per quarter. That is less than an average Stampin’ Up!® workshop! Also, you can submit your sales in any increment you wish and still receive your 20 percent discount and commission.

Q: What if I want to do this as a hobby and not necessarily a business?
A: Stampin’ Up! supports all demonstrators, no matter their goals or the level at which they choose to run their business. If you choose not to hold workshops, you can simply place your own orders and/or collect orders from family and friends to equal the $300 quarterly sales minimum.

Q: Can I be my own hostess?
A: Yes, you can be your own hostess anytime you want. Invite your family and friends into your home and have a workshop. You will be the hostess, receiving the hostess benefits, as well as the demonstrator, receiving your instant income and commission.

Q: How much does it cost to get started as a demonstrator?
A: The Starter Kit is only $199, and it includes everything you will need to get your business up and running, including stamp sets, ink, paper, catalogs, order forms, a training video, and more ($355 value). If you’re interested in scrapbooking, you can also select the Stampin’ Memories® Add-On for an additional $50 ($80 value).

Q: How can I make money as a demonstrator?
A: You can earn money in three ways: instant income (20 percent of each order), monthly volume rebates (5–20 percent of total sales), and monthly downline override commissions (2–6 percent of your recruits’ sales).

Q: Do I have to recruit other demonstrators?
A: No. If you were to recruit demonstrators, you would be paid override commissions on your downline’s sales, but this is a perk, not a requirement.

Q: Where will I get project ideas for my workshops? What kind of training can I expect?
A: Stampin’ Up! provides dozens of training resources filled with project ideas and tips to help you run every aspect of your business, including a monthly publication called Stampin’ Success, Demonstrator Support agents, a demonstrator only web site, hundreds of samples, annual and seasonal catalogs, a training DVD, the Demonstrator Manual, and a Product Guide.

Q: Is Stampin’ Up! a well-known, respected company?
A: Since 1988, Stampin’ Up! has been selling rubber stamps and paper-crafting supplies. In that time, not only have we won industry awards and accolades, but also the loyalty and admiration of demonstrators and customers alike. And that is a trend that we work hard to maintain. You can rest assured that the reputation of Stampin’ Up! will only continue to improve!

Q: What if I decide that I don’t like it once I’ve started? Will I be penalized if I quit?
A: You may choose to stop at anytime, and you will not be penalized. You simply stop placing orders. However, there are many benefits to remaining an active demonstrator.

If you have any questions about Stampin’ Up! or becoming a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, please contact me by clicking on the E-mail Me link on the right hand side of the screen!

Same Card, Different Feel

Okay, this card is similar to my last post. It's the same card design and colors, but I wanted to try out some of my new Stampin' Up! goodies to update it. I debated whether to purchase the clear stamps or not. I finally broke down and did it. I'm SO glad I did! I was able to layer the chocolate chip frame with the tempting turquoise sentiment with no problem at all...didn't even have to break out the Stamp-a-ma-jig!
If you decide to go with the clear stamps, I highly suggest purchasing the Clear Mount Blocks Bundle. It will save you over 10% to purchase the bundle instead of purchasing the blocks individually, and you'll have every size you need. If you purchase the bundle (item # 118491 for $69.95), you'll get to choose a FREE Sale-A-Bration stamp set from now through March 31st.
  • Stamps: SU Wedding Sweet, Vintage Labels (Sale-A-Bration), Whimsical Words (Sale-A-Bration)
  • Paper: SU Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, Tempting Turquoise
  • Accessories: SU Curly Label Punch, Scallop Trim Border punch (Sale-A-Bration)

My First Digital Scrapbook Pages!

My sweet husband bought me the Stampin' Up! My Digital Studio for Christmas! I LOVE IT! These are some of the first pages I've created with it! It was soooo easy to get started! I love that you can choose to use either a pre-designed template or create a page from scratch.

I must admit, though, that at first I felt like I was cheating - aren't layouts supposed to take hours to complete? Not true! I may actually get "caught up" on my srapbooking now! I'd better, with little one #3 due in May, I'm going to have my hands full!
